,,Mihai Eminescu” Pedagogical College, now “Mihai Eminescu” College, Soroca was founded in June 1912, based on the Gubernial Decree regarding to set up and establish a pedagogical institution in Soroca meant to prepare teachers for four years of university studies.
In 1918, this institution was reorganized into the “Petru Maior” Normal School.
In 1932 the pupils of the “Petru Maior” Normal School were transferred to Balti.
In 1941 the school completed its activities, and in 1944 Soroca and Balti started pedagogical courses, which became a Pedagogical School within a year.
In 1949 Soroca Pedagogical School was transferred to Balti, and in Soroca the Educational Institute was opened.
In 1953, the Educational Institute was transferred to Balti and the Balti and Briceni Pedagogical Schools were transferred to Soroca, where teachers were trained in the specialties “Primary School Teacher” and “Pre-school Educator”.
In 1965 Pedagogical School from Soroca obtained the third speciality “Music Teacher and Pre-school Musical Educator”
According to the Government Decision of the Republic of Moldova nr.245 of 8 May 1991, the “Boris Glavan” Pedagogical School was reorganized into the Normal School.
According to the Government Decision of the Republic of Moldova nr.816 of 28.07.1998 and Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Moldova nr. 532 of 05.08.1998, the Soroca Normal School was reorganized into the “Mihai Eminescu” Pedagogical College, Soroca.
According to the Government Decision of the Republic of Moldova nr.1551 of 23.12.2003 and Order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova the “Mihai Eminescu” Pedagogical College was reorganized into a specialized secondary education institution (college).
According to the Government Decision of the Republic of Moldova nr.786 of June 23, 2016 “Mihai Eminescu” Pedagogical College from Soroca has changed its name into ,,Mihai Eminescu” College, Soroca.
